A journey of a tearful love begins with more than a step. Regina Daniels (Gina) took multiple steps on her journey of love which, regrettably, now appears to be brief and filled with grief.
From her lips, Gina recently recounted how she had turned against her immediate family for the sake of love:
Everyone said no. My mum warned me, my brothers were fighting, breaking bottles. I even went to the police station and said, ‘Arrest me! My family doesn’t want me to marry the love of my life.’
But the Police won’t arrest a pretty damsel already “arrested” by the love of a wealthy, influential, and charming Prince of Anioma Land—Senator Prince Ned Nwoko. (Please permit me to call him Ned. I believe he’s fine with it. That’s what Gina calls him.)
Eventually, Gina and Ned’s love was sealed in April 2019 by marriage. Neither Gina’s family nor about the 40-year gap between them could stand in the way. By this marital seal, Gina became Ned’s sixth wife, bearing him, with the blood of virginal purity, two sons—Munir (Moon) and Khalifa.
Living the life of her dreams, and a glamorous life many could only wish for, Gina taunted and “choked” her critics and entertained her fans with mad displays of affluence.
But all that glitters is not gold, and often have we heard that told. Amidst the recent crisis rocking the boat of Gina’s beautiful love story with Ned, Gina explains that “Nobody ever flaunts their sadness” She’s right. This revelation tends to suggest that there was more beneath the glamour as we have now seen. Pointedly, when she teased about the prestige of crying in a Lamborghini, she was probably making an interesting insinuation of her reality.
Though the real details of Gina and Ned’s marriage problems remain sketchy, in marital crisis, claims, revelations, truth, half-truth, and falsehood often abound. For instance, in the heat of the raging moment (following the recent arrest of Sammy—Gina’s brother—allegedly by Ned), Gina’s mum alleged that the real reason Ned sought her daughter’s hand in marriage was because “he [Ned] wanted someone with a high star to boost his fallen star.”
So either way, whether high or low, Ned and Gina at least had their undisputed stars which they combined to create a galaxy of fame and complexities.
The duo currently look like they have crossed the Rubicon and burnt their boats. While we hope the couple will resolve their differences and get back together soon, some grave allegations making the rounds and the vituperations (emanating from Gina especially) greatly endanger any bridge of reconciliation, leaving us with a pool of lessons to take away.
The Drug-related Allegations and Vilification
Ned has accused Gina of drugs and alcohol abuse, and refusal to abide by her scheduled rehabilitation program. This heavy allegation appeared on multiple posts seen on Ned’s verified social media handles in November 2025. The details of the allegation were quite revealing. Ned took us to what he called the root of his problems with Gina (drugs and alcohol abuse). Interestingly, not only did he accuse his wife of drug abuse, he happened to also know her alleged suppliers—Sammy, her friends and close associates whom he also accused of being her partners-in-crime.
Gina is yet to unequivocally refute the allegation of substance abuse. The closest she got to addressing the allegation was the sarcastic allusion she made in her earlier supposed message to Ned through her verified Instagram account: “You said I’m a drug addict, me I use am rob [rub] body sir!” She said this while acknowledging but at the same time, rubbishing the rehabilitation attempt. However, going by the latest posts on her Instagram handle, she now seems to have made a full admission, “Fine, I did drugs. So what?” Gina’s apparent admission was accompanied with yet another twist. We’ll come back to that.
Drug abuse remains a menace in our society today which constitutes both a social vice and a crime under Nigerian laws. Thus, don’t take it for granted that a rehabilitation program which Ned allegedly organized for his wife is the “punishment” for dealing in drugs. Though a commendable way of handling the situation in certain cases, rehabilitation exercise is for the rich and the highly privileged. You may not be lucky because imprisonment is the legal consequences of dealing in drugs and illicit substances. The relevant authorities may not standby and watch if your story makes the rounds. Be warned. Don’t destroy yourself and your future with drugs. Say NO to drugs.
Back to the twist. There are always two sides to a story. Gina has now accused Ned (among other things) of domestic violence, sex without her consent, and being the architect of her substance abuse. In her words,
This claim tends to cast serious aspersion on the integrity of Ned’s current posture in the matter. But he seems unmoved as he has advised the public to “approach all her claims with caution and discernment especially taking into account her current mental condition having started and abandoned her rehabilitation from illegal drug addiction.”
Aside from these serious allegations, we have seen Gina’s resort to malicious vilification of Ned. “Narcissistic manipulative bastard”, she once called him. Indeed, there are high risks when a man of advanced age makes advances and decides to fall in love with a pretty lady young enough to be a granddaughter. The moment a young lady takes hold of a man’s manhood, both of them become mates by operation of life.
Having thrown caution to the wind, and failing to strictly stick to the issues, Gina risks the loss of public sympathy by the way she disrespectfully addresses her husband in the heat of anger.
Time to Draw the Line
Apparently broken by the crumbling walls of her castle, Gina has now made suicidal hints no one should ignore, while assuring of her determination to cling to life. This is where I believe the line should be drawn. Having become a “Family of Particular Concern”, I urge the relevant authorities to step in. Also, let well-meaning members of their respective extended families and close friends step in before things completely get out of hand.
Gina might appear to have a thick skin and an elastic heart (like Sia sang about), but I hope Ned blunts his blade and does not pull too hard anymore. Though a hard pill to swallow, but, if Gina says she’s done, then, she’s done. When love is turned into a game, and the game is over, there will surely be a winner and a loser. It is left for the players to take stock peacefully and decide which way to go.
